Full Time (Weekdays, one weekend day required). Nights and holidays as needed.


This position will be responsible for all areas of Club Pet boarding, overseeing the Club Pet Manager and mentoring the Manager in all duties.  Main responsibilities include the establishing of operating systems and procedures that ensure proper documentation for and accurate recordkeeping of: quality animal care systems, superior customer service, development and morale maintenance of team members, efficient use of software to provide summary reporting and accurate financial reporting on the boarding center business.  Duties will include identifying system efficiencies, marketing opportunities and revenue expansion.  Evaluate the software system to assess whether it meets business needs or recommend a replacement system. Evaluate reporting capabilities of system and develop efficient reporting systems.  Evaluate ways to use software to make operations more efficient. Analyze marketing plan and develop recommendations for marketing opportunities and client base expansion. Oversee completion of all business and financial systems including the annual budget and monthly profit and loss reports, strategic plan and budget to ensure goals of the department are met and that Board reports provide accurate and comparable data from year to year. Gather, analyze and interpret external and internal data and prepare summary reports. Oversee volunteer recruitment and management. Establish inventory controls ensuring physical counts reconcile with G/L records. Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines.

Address in a timely manner all issues in customer service, animal care and staff operations. Ensure exceptional Customer Service is provided at all levels of employee interaction.  Ensure quality of animal care and accurate record keeping. Ensure proper G/L coding of expenses and timecard processing.  Promote morale, teamwork, and positive interactions within the department staff and the Center.  Communicate departmental needs, issues and concerns to Operations Director in a timely manner. Ensure consistent and fair enforcement of all Center policies and procedures. Follow safety and sanitation policies throughout the facility in order to maintain Center standards of excellence. Represent the Center's standards of professionalism.

In addition to the duties listed above, the Center expects the following of each employee:  adheres to Center policies and procedures; works in a safe manner; acts as a role model within and outside the Center; performs duties as workload necessitates; maintains a positive and respectful attitude; communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues; demonstrates efficient time management and prioritizes workload; consistently reports to work on time prepared to perform duties of the position; meets department productivity standards; participates in Center events as needed or required; and completes other duties as assigned.



Must have a related Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.  Must have a minimum of 5 years proven management exp., including budget preparation, managing a budget of at least $1 million, strategic planning development and implementation, new business development, profit and loss analysis, managing/developing a staff of at least 25, problem solving, planning, organizing and motivational skills.  Previous experience in a boarding animal facility and public interface preferred.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills needed.  Well versed in PC software programs, including Microsoft Office and Windows.  General experience handling human resource issues required.  Experience with computer database applications for maintaining records of customers, animals, etc.  Strong customer service skills necessary.  Must be detail oriented and able to learn quickly. Ability to properly handle, exercise and control large and/or difficult dogs and cats.  Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. unassisted.   Must be able to work closely with animal dander.

Employee must demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

As this position may require occasional driving duties, employee must possess a valid Driver's License.  Employee must complete a Driver Information Form and provide a recent DMV Driving Record Report to be kept on file, as well as proof of insurance.
